Wyo sales and use taxes up 10% over previous year

It was good news — bad news for the Wyoming economy last December. The good news came from reinvigorated sales and use taxes that came in at $36 million, or 10.5 percent better than 2010 through December.

Wyoming’s General Fund grew by $80.4 million in December to $481.6 million, according to the January issue of the monthly state revenue report. As a result, year-to-date General Fund revenues exceeded projections by $20.6 million or 2 percent.
