The PBS KIDS Share A Story Web site (pbs.org/shareastory) brings together the vast array of reading activities and resources from PBS KIDS, PBS Parents, and PBS TeacherSource, as well as providing new materials specially developed for the initiative and an opportunity for visitors to share their favorite stories.
Ready To Learn workshops are a service of Wyoming PBS, are free of charge and can be presented at your local site. Wyoming STARS credit is available for the workshops offered. Participants receive free books for their children, content materials and a variety of educational and fun items during each workshop.

The Mad That You Feel?"
This workshop uses a variety of activities to help parents and caregivers explore different approaches to helping children deal with their anger. Participation helps gain a better understanding of the development of children's emotional stages as well as techniques that guide and support children as they develop self-control.

Ready to Learn About Conflict
Conflict is part of life and this workshop presents parents and caregivers with ways that they can foster problem solving skills. Using video scenarios and clips from PBS Kids programming, this presentation features discussions and skill building opportunities. This workshop has four components:
Examining Conflict - looking at styles of conflict resolution
Communication Skills - focusing on active listening skills
Parent-Child Conflicts - exploring negotiation and win-win situations
This workshop can be presented in its entirety or as two separate workshops.

Parenting Counts: Becoming an Emotion Coach
During this workshop, participants will examine different parenting styles and the benefits of practicing Emotion Coaching; a positive problem solving approach utilizing current research on social and emotional development in your children.

Early Literacy Development
Sesame Street Beginnings: Talk, Read, Write!
Reviewed and endorsed by the American Academy of Pediatrics, this workshop provides fun ways to support preschooler's literacy development. This multimedia program provides the tools needed for parents to help young children along the exciting path from listening and speaking to reading and writing. It includes activities and tips for making language and literacy development a fun part of everyday life.

Between The Lions: Get Wild About Reading
The doors open on a magical library where characters pop off the pages of books, vowels sing, and words take on a life of their own. Between The Lions provides research-based support and enrichment for the emergent reader.

Using the Reading Rockets program, this workdshop shows parents how to make "literate" home; one that creates a home environment that supports early literacy skills and development.
