Building Wyoming PBS's Financial Independence

Wyoming PBS recently lost $1.4 million in federal funding—one-third of our budget. The Legacy of the West Endowment is meant to provide a stable, perpetual source of funding for Wyoming PBS and its core initiatives, including local productions, community events, outreach, and education. The Hughes Charitable Foundation has pledged $500,000 to help establish the endowment and ensure WY PBS continues to thrive for generations.

While the Legacy of the West Endowment won't replace lost funding overnight, it's a crucial first step toward financial independence. The Hughes Charitable Foundation's vote of confidence, combined with generous Wyoming supporters, has created an unprecedented  matching opportunity.

How It Works

The Wyoming PBS Foundation has committed $500,000 from our reserves. When we raise $500,000 by April 21, 2026, the Hughes Charitable Foundation will add their $500,000 to create a $1.5 million endowment.

$1,000 suggested minimum for endowment contributions, though smaller gifts are welcome.

$10,000+ gifts can establish named legacy funds in your honor.

All or nothing: We must raise the full $500,000 by April 21, 2026 to unlock the Hughes match.
