Telling Stories with Paul Bruun

The Film

For more than half a century, legendary guide, writer, and storyteller Paul Bruun has chronicled the people, places, and traditions that shaped fly fishing in the American West. On Wyoming’s rivers and behind the typewriter, he witnessed an extraordinary era of change, crossing paths with the characters who defined modern fly fishing.

Told largely in Paul’s own words, drawn from decades of columns, the film uses his life as a lens into a larger story. With the Snake River and Jackson Hole as both setting and character, archival photographs, personal memories, and time on the water trace the evolution of fly fishing, the West, and our relationship with rivers, exploring what we inherit from those who came before us and what we choose to leave behind.

Made in Wyoming about one of its own, this Wyoming PBS production comes from producer Jon Klaczkiewicz of Fish Camp.

Filming is underway, with a premiere planned for 2027.
